The bar shifted again after the last set of storms. What used to be a reliable left now closes out on anything over shoulder high. Walk the beach at low water before you paddle out — twenty minutes of looking saves an hour of paddling in the wrong place.
Cold-water booties are worth the money if you are out before sunrise. The 3mm ones are enough through spring; anything thinner and you will be counting minutes rather than waves.
